How do I teach my dog to use the bike trailer?
Let the dog become familiar with the trailer gradually and at its own pace. Start indoors, preferably without the wheels, and leave all openings open. Use treats, toys or a familiar blanket. Then attach the wheels and practise having the dog sit or lie calmly inside. Begin with short walks before connecting the trailer to the bicycle and starting with very short bike rides.

Is it easy for the dog to get in and out of the trailer?
Yes, all models have a low entry and openings at both the front and rear. Pluto M and Pluto L also have openings on both sides, which can be practical for large dogs or dogs that have difficulty turning around. Apply the parking brake and keep the trailer stable while the dog gets in or out.

Which dogs are suitable for Hamax Pluto L?
Pluto L is suitable for larger dogs with a maximum sitting height of 82 cm. The permitted load is 40 kg when cycling and 45 kg in stroller mode. The interior space measures 100 cm long, 54 cm wide and 80 cm high, providing more room for larger dogs and dogs that need extra space when lying down.

Can Hamax dog bike trailers be used to transport children?
No, Milou and Pluto are designed for dogs and must not be used to transport children. They do not have child seats or safety harnesses approved for passengers. Use a Hamax child bike trailer when transporting children by bicycle or on foot.

Do Hamax dog bike trailers have good ventilation?
Yes, all models have large mesh panels that provide airflow and visibility.
Always monitor the temperature and your dog’s breathing, and make sure the dog has access to water and regular breaks in warm weather.

What is included when I buy Milou or Pluto?
All models come with a bicycle arm, wheels, safety flag and the necessary equipment for use as a dog bike trailer. Pluto M and Pluto L also come with a stroller wheel and height-adjustable handle. For Milou S, the stroller kit must be purchased separately if the trailer is to be used as a stroller. The dog bed, rain cover and protective cover are available as accessories.

Where are the bicycle arm and stroller wheel stored when not in use?
The bicycle arm can be stored in a dedicated pocket inside both Milou and Pluto. On Pluto, the stroller wheel can be stored in the front pocket when the trailer is used behind a bicycle. The stroller kit for Milou is available as an accessory. When the trailer is used in cycling mode, the parts should be removed and stored securely in accordance with the user manual.
Multisport
With Pluto, you can enjoy both bike rides and walks in one and the same stroller, and the smart accessories also make the trip more comfortable for the dog.
